A mermaid party lives in the colours between sea and sky: lagoon teal, seafoam, lilac and a touch of coral, with anything iridescent or pearlescent on top. Fish-scale prints and shells finish it.
It is a natural fit for a pool party or a summer birthday, but it works just as well indoors with a shimmer curtain behind the cake. Seashells and pearl strands for the table cost little, and a mermaid tail blanket or a necklace of shells makes a goodie bag that gets used after the party.
